Matthieu Ricard
CONTEMPLATION is an artistic event combining photography and architecture throughout an original collaboration between the French photographer and thinker Matthieu Ricard and the Colombian architect Simón Vélez.
As a trandisciplinary initiative that extends beyond borders and cultural identities, CONTEMPLATION is about some of the fundamental values or our time and our societies such as altruism, empathy, serenity and the respect for life. The audience is invited to a journey, to contemplate and to take the time to reflect through an original and intense artistic experience.
The structure can be entirely disassembled and reassembled: it is an itinerant project that aims to travel the world, meet new places and new audiences.
The first step was in Arles, as part of the international photo festival of the Rencontres d’Arles, from July 2nd to September 23rd, 2018.
